Poppy
Today is ANZAC Day, a day when New Zealanders and Australians remember our fallen. Its like Memorial Day in the US.
It seems only fitting that I call on the Poppy, which is the symbol for ANZAC Day, because the Poppy has its origins in the early twentieth century, when red or Flanders poppies bloomed over the graves of soldiers in France and Belgium.
“Poppies, please bring me these heartfelt desires as fast as you can. I’m ready to receive these gifts now. If you feel there’s something even greater for me, I’m willing to accept this. Thanks you.”
